AI Agents for Business Software

An AI agent is software that receives a goal in plain language, works out the steps needed, uses tools to carry them out and reports back. Unlike a chatbot that only replies with text, an agent can look things up and change things in real systems.

At 7CRM we build agents into business software so routine requests — “book a room for tomorrow”, “who hasn’t paid fees this month?”, “send this client a follow-up” — get done, not just discussed.

How an agent works

Every agent follows a loop: understand the request, plan, call a tool, read the result and decide what to do next. The language model provides understanding and reasoning; the tools — functions and APIs that we define — provide the ability to act.

Because tools are explicit, we control exactly what an agent may do. An agent that can check hotel availability and create a reservation cannot, for example, issue refunds unless we give it that tool.

Keeping agents safe and useful

Business agents need guardrails: they only use data the user is allowed to see, sensitive actions can require human approval, and they must never invent facts. We design agents to say what they did and what they need, and to hand over to a person when a request is unclear.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an AI agent the same as a chatbot?

No. A chatbot replies; an agent also takes actions by calling tools in real systems.

Can an agent act without approval?

Only for actions you allow. Sensitive steps can be configured to need human approval.

Can 7CRM build an agent for my business?

Yes — tell us about the workflow you want to automate.
