Weekly Tests for Coaching Institutes: Branded Question Papers Without the Overtime

Weekly tests keep students on track — but setting them eats faculty time. Here’s a system for branded, consistent tests every week.

For a coaching institute, the weekly test is the heartbeat of the course. It tells students where they stand, tells faculty what to revise, and tells parents the fees are working. But for faculty juggling several batches, boards and subjects, setting a fresh, well-formatted paper every week — plus an answer key — is real overtime.

Here’s a simple system that keeps weekly tests consistent and cuts the time to minutes.

1. Fix a weekly test format per batch

Consistency helps students and makes results comparable week to week. For each batch, fix:

  • Duration and marks — e.g. 45 minutes, 25 marks.
  • Sections — e.g. 10 MCQs × 1, 5 fill in the blanks × 1, 5 short answers × 2.
  • Difficulty — mostly medium, with a few hard questions for the toppers.
  • Portion rule — this week’s chapter plus a few questions from earlier chapters for revision.

2. Generate the paper from the week’s chapters

With a generator such as ExamBee, choose the board, class, subject and the exact chapters covered that week, enter your section format, and get a complete paper built from a bank of over 1,27,000 approved questions. Board pages make it quick to start:

3. Put your institute’s brand on every paper

Students and parents notice professional papers. Add your institute’s name, address, contact details and logo, and choose a paper design — every weekly test then looks like it came from your institute, not a photocopier.

4. Review in five minutes

Skim the paper for anything outside the week’s teaching or too close to last week’s test. Swap individual questions, reorder them, or regenerate a whole section until it’s right.

5. Share it the way your students work

  • Print the PDF for classroom tests.
  • Share images on the batch group for a home test.
  • Export to Excel if you want to load questions into another tool or keep a record.

Every paper is saved in My Papers, where you can search, reopen, duplicate last week’s paper as a starting point, or share it by link with another faculty member.

6. Use the answer key for fast, consistent checking

ExamBee generates a separate answer key with every paper. Give it to whoever is checking that batch so marks are consistent, and use it to discuss solutions in the next class.

7. Track results, revise weak chapters

Record each student’s score by chapter. When a chapter keeps scoring low across the batch, re-teach it — and include it in the next weekly test.

Mock exams before boards

In the months before board exams, switch from weekly chapter tests to full-portion mock papers that follow the board’s latest sample-paper structure for the subject. Generate several variants so different batches don’t share the same paper.
